Consul General of Cuba in Toronto held a working meeting with Ontario's Associate Minister of Mental Health and Addictions.

The Consul General of Cuba in Toronto, Jorge Yanier Castellanos Orta, was received by Michael A. Tibollo, Associate Minister of Mental Health and Addictions, at the Ontario Legislature.

During the meeting, both agreed on the need to expand and strengthen ties between this important Canadian province and Cuba, especially on the eve of the celebrations of the 80th anniversary of uninterrupted diplomatic relations. They identified a group of actions that could contribute to achieving these objectives.

For his part, the Cuban diplomat gave an update on the current situation in our country, especially with regard to the energy crisis generated to a great extent by the effects of the U.S. blockade.

During the visit to the Legislative headquarters, the Consul General was also able to exchange with Stephen Lecce, Minister of Energy and Electrification, with Verónica Pantón, Director of International Relations and Chief of Protocol of Ontario, and with Cara Vaccarino, President and CEO of the Ottawa mental health center "The Royal". Consul Aneylin Ruiz Casas also participated on the Cuban side.
