Our country paraded with an authentic Cuban float with the colors of our flag, the presence of national attributes and of students from the dance school of Cuban choreographer José Angel Carret, who wore traditional costumes with the colors of our national flag, at this great celebration where Latinos came out to celebrate their roots, identity and culture.
The float, prepared by members of the Consulate and the Juan Gualberto Gómez Association of Cuban Residents, was joined by other friends of the main solidarity groups, and Cuban residents, who to the rhythm of good Cuban music waved our flag and spread the joy to the participants.
For more than 2 kilometers, they paraded through the main streets of the city up to Dundas Square, the main square of the city, where they also enjoyed good Cuban food and concluded with the presentation of the talented Cuban violinist Yanet Campbell, accompanied by members of the Ontario Pop Orchestra.
The Consul General had the opportunity to meet with Pablo Rodriguez, Canada's Minister of Transport; Alejandra Bravo, Toronto City Councillor; Oscar Vigil, Executive Director of the Hispanic Canadian Heritage Council; and with counterparts from the Latin American Consular Corps, among other personalities.
