The meeting held by the Ambassador of the Republic of Cuba to Austria, Mr. Juan Antonio Fernández Palacios and the Federal Minister of Education of this European country, PhD. Sonja Hammerschmid at the headquarters of the Austrian ministry, constituted an opportunity to ratify the will of both countries to continue strengthening the existing cooperation bonds in the educational sector through the extension of the bilateral MOU in force.
The document shall be updated for 2017-2018 period and it shall broaden the exchange actions that have been executed since 2012 with regard to the training and exchange projects for professors and students, essentially, in foreign languages and professional-technical teaching areas.
Furthermore, both authorities discussed the process developed by both countries directed towards the improvement of respective educational systems and they highly valued the usefulness of exchanging experiences on this respect. The Ambassador of Cuba reiterated the invitation extended to Minister Hammerschmid by Minister Ena Elsa Velázquez to perform a visit to Cuba, in the framework of these positive bonds.
