Ottawa, December 4, 2017- Today, Cuba and Canada foreign ministries held bilateral political consultations, chaired by Cuba First Deputy Foreign Minister Mr. Marcelino Medina González and Associate Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Canada Mr. David Morrison, respectively.
During the talks, both parties examined the state of bilateral relations and agreed to further expand and strengthen the political dialogue in various areas of mutual interest and benefit. Multilateral, regional and international issues of common concern were discussed as well.
Cuba First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs was accompanied by Ambassador of Cuba to Canada H.E. Julio Garmendía and other Cuban officials. Assistant Deputy Minister Mr. Martin Benjamin, Director General of the Central America and Caribbean Division Ms. Ioanna Sahas Martin, among other Global Affairs officials, attended the meeting, from the Canadian side.
