Cuba and Cook Islands confirm common challenges

Wellington, April 4, 2018 – On the occasion of a visit to New Zealand by the Prime Minister of Cook Islands, Hon. Henry Puna, Cuban Ambassador Mario Alzugaray exchanged with Secretary of Foreign Affairs of the Pacific nation, Tepaeru Herrmann.

The Cuban diplomat expressed his pleasure at Prime Minister Puna´s reference to common challenges faced by Small Island Developing States, both in the Pacific and in the Caribbean, a topic that was the subject of debate at an event hosted by the New Zealand Institute of International Affairs (NZIIA) this afternoon in Parliament House.
