Roseau, Dominica - January 29, 2025 - In a working meeting held this morning at the Parliament House, the Honorable Joseph Isaac, Speaker of the House of Assembly of Dominica, received the Ambassador of Cuba, Miguel Fraga.
During the cordial exchange, the Cuban Ambassador delivered two official letters: one from the President of the National Assembly of People's Power of Cuba (ANPP), Esteban Lazo, and the other from the Parliamentary Group of Friendship with the Commonwealth of Dominica in the ANPP. In these missives, deep appreciation is expressed for the resolution unanimously approved on December 16, 2024 by the Parliament of Dominica, demanding the immediate lifting of the economic, commercial and financial blockade imposed by the United States against Cuba and the removal of Cuba from the list of State sponsors of terrorism.
The President of the Parliament of Dominica, Joseph Isaac, reaffirmed his country's commitment to justice and international solidarity, stressing the importance of the bilateral relationship with Cuba. For his part, the Cuban diplomat highlighted the relevance of unity between sister nations and thanked the unconditional support of the people and authorities of Dominica.
This new meeting between Ambassador Miguel Fraga and the Honorable Joseph Isaac is an expression of the spirit of collaboration and friendship that characterizes the relations between the two countries.
