Cuba and India hold Bilateral Political Consultations

Havana, June 27, 2022 - The Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs, Anayansi Rodríguez Camejo, and her Indian counterpart, Secretary (East) Saurabh Kumar, agreed in evaluating as fruitful the Bilateral Political Consultations held on Monday, June 27, in Havana.

Both sides exchanged views on issues of common interest in bilateral relations and the regional and international agenda, while ratifying the willingness to strengthen bilateral collaboration in various areas, such as health, biotechnology, renewable energy sources, agriculture, telecommunications, sports and education. They also exchanged views on the fight against Covid-19 in both countries and the economic recovery.

They also discussed cooperation and support in international forums, always in defense of multilateralism, the principles of International Law and the purposes and principles of the United Nations Charter.

The Cuban Vice Minister expressed her gratitude for India's historic position of rejecting the economic, commercial and financial blockade imposed by the government of the United States against our country. She also reiterated the invitation extended by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Bruno Rodríguez Parrilla, to his Indian counterpart, Dr. S. Jaishankar, to honor us with his visit to Cuba, which was accepted.

The Political Consultations took place in a fraternal atmosphere, in keeping with the long-standing historical and friendly relations between Cuba and India.
