During a working visit to the southern state of Kerala, the Charge d'Affaires a.i. of the Cuban Embassy in India, Abel Aballe Despaigne, participated in a business forum organized by the state Ministry of Industries and the promotional agency "Kerala State Industries Development Corporation" (KSIDC). The event was presided over by the Principal Secretary of the Industries Department of the Government of Kerala, Mohammed Hanish; and the Secretary of KSIDC, S. Harikishore IAS.
The Cuban diplomat made a presentation on the environment and business opportunities in Cuba, particularly in the sectors of tourism, biotechnology, agriculture and food industry, IT and renewable energy. He also promoted the participation of a business delegation from the government of Kerala to the Havana International Fair, FIHAV 2024.
The Principal Secretary of Industries highlighted Cuba's development in sectors such as biotechnology, sports, tourism and health despite the impact of the economic, commercial and financial blockade imposed by the US government against our country for more than 60 years.
The forum was attended by representatives of the chambers of commerce in that state, as well as of different industries such as tourism and hospitality, renewable energies, IT and biotechnology. Entrepreneurs from the tourism and IT sectors expressed interest in participating in FIHAV 2024.
