Cuba and Indonesia analyze sports cooperation project

Jakarta, October 19, 2018. The ambassador of Cuba, Nirsia Castro Guevara, received today Johni Asadoma, president of the Indonesian Boxing Association, to discuss the reopening of a cooperation project in boxing.

At the beginning of 2016, the last Cuban coach who worked in the preparation of the Indonesian boxing team, returned to Cuba. Based on the results of that experience and also in the commitments that the Asian country has in the short and medium term, the country's top boxing authority has decided to continue with the collaboration, which could be extended to more than one coach and preparation match between both squads.

Asadoma, who was a recognized boxer for his performance in the region and his participation in the 1984 Los Angeles Olympics, also knows the Cuban boxing school results. The meeting was also attended by Shelly Selowati H. Soejono, General Secretary of the Indonesian Boxing Association and other officials from the Embassy.
