Monrovia, April 19, 2023 - The Republic of Cuba and the Republic of Liberia are celebrating today the 49th anniversary of the establishment of their bilateral relations, which have been uninterrupted and characterized by cordiality and mutual support on issues on the international agenda.
Throughout these decades, the ties between both nations have reflected the will to preserve and strengthen the fraternal ties that unite both countries.
Both governments ratify their willingness to continue strengthening bilateral ties, as well as to explore other areas of cooperation for the benefit of both peoples.
The Republic of Cuba and the Republic of Liberia agreed to establish diplomatic relations on April 19, 1974.
At present we can incorporate among the most significant events in bilateral relations the recent official visit to Liberia of the Vice Minister of MINREX Elio Rodriguez Perdomo in March 2023.
Currently 7 young Liberians are studying medicine in Cuba, 2 of them will graduate in June and return to Liberia to provide health services in the country where they were born.
