Cuba and Liberia: towards a higher stage in bilateral relations.

On the morning of Friday, Ms. Marjon Kamara, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Liberia, received the Chargé d'Affaires of Cuba in Liberia, Yordenis Despaigne Vera, at the Foreign Ministry headquarters in that country.

In a fraternal atmosphere, both parties confirmed the good state of diplomatic ties, which on April 19 reached its 42nd anniversary. The Cuban official transmitted to the chancellor, greetings on behalf of Minister Bruno Rodríguez Parrilla and congratulations on his recent appointment and the distinction granted by his government. He also reiterated Cuba's commitment to continue supporting, to the extent of its possibilities, the Liberian government and people in their projections of social development, particularly the training of young professionals and the strengthening of the health system.

For her part, Minister Kamara thanked Cuba for that provision, which was vital during the Ebola epidemic and that should be deepened not only in the sectors of health and capacity building, but also in other areas that both governments identify as mutually beneficial. . It was an opportunity to review other aspects of bilateral relations and the international political scene.

On the Liberian side were also present Mr. Dehpue Zuo, Vice Minister of International Cooperation and Economic Integration, Ms. Dewey Gray, Vice Minister of Legal Affairs and Mr. Sie-Teba Neufville, Director of Latin America. On the Cuban side Carmen Maury, Second Secretary of the Cuban diplomatic mission, also participated.
