Namibia, December 4th, 2020 - The Cuban Ambassador to Namibia, Sidenio Acosta, and the Director of West Africa and America of the Ministry of International Relations and Cooperation of this country, Ms. Helena Kuzee, led, for their respective parts, a meeting to review the status of cooperation between both countries.
On the Namibian side, other officials from the Foreign Ministry were also present, as well as representatives from the Ministries of Industrialization and Commerce; Urban and Rural Development; and Health and Social Services. Ambassador Acosta was accompanied by Aldo Fuentes, second secretary of the Cuban diplomatic mission, Juan Carlos Oliva, economic and commercial adviser, and Dr. Arnaldo Meneses, Chief of the Cuban Medical Brigade in Namibia.
During the meeting, the cooperation agreements established between Namibia and Cuba were reviewed. Likewise, other areas susceptible to the establishment of new collaborative links were explored.
In this sense, the First Edition of the Cuba 2020 Business Forum was promoted. It is organized by the Ministry of Foreign Trade of Cuba and which will take place, virtually, between December 8 and 9.
The Namibian authorities recognized and highlighted the contribution of the more than 100 Cuban experts present in their country. Ambassador Acosta reaffirmed Cuba's commitment to continue collaborating with Namibia, in any sector in which the island's assistance is required.
The meeting, held in an atmosphere of brotherhood, was reaffirmed the excellent state of bilateral relations, 30 years after its official establishment.
