Wellington, 12 February 2015. As part of a solemn ceremony at the headquarters of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade in Beijing held the official signing of the Cooperation Agreement between Cuba and New Zealand to support the Cuban health care Pacífico.El Islands in the document signed by Mr. Craig Hawke, Chief Executive of the New Zealand Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and Ambassador of Cuba María del Carmen Herrera Caseiro, marks a milestone in the sustained development of relations between the two countries.
In his words after the materialization of the firm, the Cuban diplomat referred to the good progress of bilateral ties, highlighting some of the recent developments denoting experienced in these links jump, among which he mentioned the reciprocal visits of the two Ministers Foreign progress in cooperation and support on issues of particular priority for both countries in multilateral fora; and the holding of the First Official Dialogue between New Zealand and Cuba to exchange on topics of interest in the respective regions, multilateral issues and bilateral initiatives.
"The signing of this Agreement constitutes a concrete and tangible interest result and the willingness of both sides to further strengthen the relations of cooperation and friendship and is irrefutable proof of our commitment to support sustainable development in the Pacific region," he said Ambassador of Cuba, who reaffirmed the willingness to deepen this cooperation, including the possibility of also explore joint initiatives to support programs in the Caribbean region.

The agreement signed promotes, among other things, the capacitaciónen English language Cuban doctors who provide their services in the Pacific Islands and supported by New Zealand in the air transportation of such personnel from Cuba to New Zealand and to the destination country language training once completed.
