Riyadh, November 29th - The Cuban Ambassador to Saudi Arabia, Vladimir Gonzalez Quesada, was received by Dr. Ibrahim Bin Mahmoud Al-Nahas, president of the Saudi-Cuban Parliamentary Committee of Friendship in the Consultative Council (Shura).
During the meeting, which took place at the headquarters of the Saudi legislative power, the Cuban diplomat conveyed the greetings of the International Relations Commission in the National Assembly of People's Power (ANPP), particularly of its president, Yolanda Ferrer Gomez.
As the new Ambassador of the Island to the Kingdom, Vladimir expressed his full willingness to continue working in order to strengthen bilateral relations between the two countries, especially at the parliamentary level. He also expressed interest to promote an increase in exchanges between the ANPP International Relations Commission and the Saudi-Cuban Parliamentary Committee of Friendship at Shura.
For his part, Dr. Nahas pointed out the importance of consolidating ties between the Consultative Council and the ANPP, through the exchange of visits between both parties and the strengthening of the work of the respective friendship committees so that relations reach the maximum level.
The Consultative Council is the official advisory body of Saudi Arabia and has 150 members appointed by the King for a period of four years. Its function is to present bills to the monarch and his cabinet in charge of the executive power. (EmbaCuba Arabia Saudita)
