Victoria, Feb 8 (Prensa Latina) Cuban Deputy Culture Minister Lizette Martinez, who is on an official visit to Seychelles on Saturday, discussed with Education Minister Justin Valentin the possibilities of cooperation in artistic education programs.
During the meeting, the two officials analyzed the possibilities of conforming syllabuses for artistic appreciation from early ages, training art teachers and artistic education specialists, diplomatic sources underscored.
Earlier, Martinez met with Wavel Woodcock, president of the Committee on Press, Youth, Sports, and Culture and Vice President of the International Relations Committee of the Seychelles Parliament.
During the meeting, which was described as fruitful, the lawmakers presented, in the African Union (AU) and the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA), the African country’s unchanged historic stance against the US blockade against Cuba.
Martinez also conveyed greetings from Cuban National People’s Power Assembly (ANPP) Esteban Lazo, before David Andre, Secretary General of the Seychelles Culture Institute, among other officials.
She also conveyed to Roger Mancienne, Speaker of the National Assembly of Seychelles, an invitation from Lazo to visit officially Cuba.
Martínez also reiterated her appreciation for the support of the Seychelles Parliament, especially to Sebastien Pillay, Leader of the Opposition, for the international denunciation of Cuba’s inclusion again in Washington’s State Sponsors of Terrorism (SSOT) list.
Both sides agreed on the importance of fostering inter-parliamentary ties and stressed continuing to strengthen contacts between the respective Friendship Groups and events.
