Cuba and Seychelles sign cultural cooperation Agreement

Cuba and Seychelles signed today an agreement for cultural cooperation between the National Center of Art Schools of the Ministry of Culture of Cuba and the The Seychelles National Institute of Culture, Heritage and the Arts.

The Secretary General of the Institute David André and Cuban Ambassador in the African nation Martha Hernández signed the document, which will be in force for three years.

The agreement includes academic and cultural cooperation among students, professors and specialists, visits and meetings between art schools of both countries, courses and training in different artistic disciplines, the promotion and participation of students in competitions, festivals and other events and the exchange of specialized information and audiovisual materials.

At the ceremony, David André stressed the importance of this cooperation, which will undoubtedly contribute to the improvement of artistic teaching methods in Seychelles.

The Cuban ambassador stated that it will be a real satisfaction to promote in the Caribbean island the extraordinary richness of the Creole culture and to share the experiences of Cuban artistic education.

The opportunity was propitious to convey Cuba's greetings to the government and people of Seychelles, on the occasion of the celebration of the 46th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two countries, established on April 12, 1978.
