Monrovia, May 15, 2021 - The Liberian newspaper "Liberia News" in its digital edition publishes a report on Cuba and its vaccine candidates against the COVID-19 pandemic.
This publication indicates that the five Cuban vaccine candidates are considered by the world as achievements of the medicine of this Caribbean country in spite of the blockade to which it has been subjected for almost 6 decades. It refers to how difficult it is for Cuba to access pharmacological raw materials and medical equipment, especially since Donald Trump tightened sanctions during his presidency.
The publication recognizes the achievements of the Cuban biotechnology and health sector, and of the Finlay Institute, and states that Cuban vaccines have proven to be safe.
It also refers to public health communication campaigns and the fact that Cuba is famous for its medical diplomacy, with Fidel Castro being the first to promote international solidarity and send doctors to other countries around the world.
