Cuba has hailed today Venezuela for defending the Latin American and Caribbean dignity, based on truth, reason and justice against the OAS and its Secretary General''s actions to undermine and topple the Bolivarian Revolution.
In a statement, the Cuban Foreign Ministry underlines that Venezuela is not along, while commenting that the Permanent Council of the Organization of American States failed to pass a resolution against Caracas and impose the Inter-American Democratic Charter with the aim to punish Venezuela.
The OAS Venezuela is today facing is the same that endorsed military aggressions and interventions, kept conspiratorial silence before serious democratic violations and human rights throughout the hemisphere, including coups, disappearance of people, arbitrary detentions, tortures and assassinations of students, journalists and social leaders, the statement points out.
It's the same organization -it adds- that has overlooked forced displacement of people caused by poverty and violence, walls, deportations, unequal trade, environmental pollution, drug-trafficking and cultural aggression.
Venezuela has waged -it continues- a diplomatic battle against imperialist and oligarchical intentions to crush the right of the people and the States to emancipate, exercise their own sovereignty and build up the political, economic, social and cultural system they freely choose.
The Cuban Foreign Ministry recalls in its statement that it is evident the coincidence between OAS current agitation and that of 1962 when it conspired against Cuba.
'The Ministry of Colonies once again commits today the same mistakes: intense pressures and blackmails by the United States on a group of countries, including the smallest and most vulnerable, and again we see the submissive attitude of those who prefer to kneel down and submit themselves rather than facing up the giant with seven-league boots', the statement concludes.
