Cuba participates in the 9th Extraordinary Meeting of the Ministerial Council of the ACS.

 

Port of Spain, August 1st, 2018 – The permanent representative of Cuba to the Association of Caribbean States (ACS), Ambassador Guillermo Vázquez Moreno, headed the Cuban delegation that participated in the 9th Extraordinary Meeting of the Ministerial Council of the ACS that took place in this capital.

Participating in the meeting were the member states with the objective of examining and approving the terms of reference for the directors of the organization that would be chosen in the next Ministerial Council.

The approval of these terms constitutes one of the main aspects of the new structure of the ACS and part of its revitalization process approved in the 7th Summit of Heads of State and/or Government of the ACS celebrated in Havana, Cuba in June 2016.

At the end of the meeting, the Cuban Ambassador stressed the importance of the revitalization process of the ACS and Cuba’s support in completing the selection of the new directors in order to achieve the work objectives of this regional organization.
