Cuba participates in the Ambassador's Choice International Film Festival

Riyadh, November 24th - On this date, the X edition of the "Ambassador's Choice 2022" International Film Festival was inaugurated, which is convened and organized every year by the Embassy of India in Saudi Arabia, with the aim of promoting cultural relations, involving the international community resident in Riyadh and the concerned Saudi organizations.

The inauguration ceremony was attended by authorities from the Saudi Ministry of Culture, representatives of the accredited Diplomatic Corps and the general public. In his speech on the occasion, the Chargé d' Affaires a.i. from the Indian Embassy, Mr. M. R. Sajeev, thanked the contribution of the different participating countries and outlined the historical and strong presence of the Asian nation in world cinematography.

In this edition, which will run until December 17th, a total of 15 films from 14 countries are participating: Saudi Arabia, Mexico, Spain, Australia, France, Cuba, Sudan, Norway, the Philippines, Bangladesh, the United States, Algeria, Sri Lanka and India.

Cuba is represented in this cultural event by the film "Habanastation", a fiction feature film from 2011, which was made by Ian Padrón and starred by child actors from the children's theater company "La Colmenita".

The film, belonging to the drama genre and lasting about 95 minutes, was produced by the Ministry of Culture (MINCULT) of Cuba, the Cuban Institute of Radio and Television (ICRT) and the Cuban Institute of Cinematographic Art and Industry (ICAIC).

"Habanastation" will be screened on December 1st and in this festival it is accompanied by other outstanding films such as "Frida" from Mexico; "A Chinese tale" from Spain; and "Coda" from the United States. (EmbaCuba Arabia Saudita)
