Yogyakarta, November 1, 2017. Cuban engineer Bárbara Hernández Martínez, Energy Director of Grupo Empresarial Azucarero, AZCUBA represented Cuba at the Astechnova 2017 scientific event, organized by the Gadjah Mada University of Yogyakarta and the Center for South-South Technical Cooperation (CSSTC) of the Non Aligned Movement (NAM), which was focused on the use of renewable energies and their efficient use.
The Cuban engineer presented the progress made by the AZCUBA Sugar Group in the field of sugarcane agroindustry, and the main challenges it faces in generating energy from the derivatives of the sugar industry. In addition to the delegate of Cuba, representatives of Venezuela, Nepal and Japan participated.
