Vienna 6 May. Cuba was present in the commemorative act that remembers the Anniversary of the Liberation of the Concentration Camp of Mauthausen that took place on May 2, 1945.
The collective of the Cuban Embassy in Austria together with the Austria-Cuba Friendship Association (ÖKG) paraded in a representative block of our country that paid homage to the victims of fascism in that facility.
During the celebration, Ambassador Pablo Berti Oliva and Hermann Pernerstorfer, president of the ÖKG, laid a wreath on behalf of Cuba in the Central Square designated for that purpose.
The annual memorial parade for the victims of fascism in Mauthausen takes place every year on the first Sunday in May.
The event is attended by a representation of the accredited diplomatic corps and civil society organisations that support the fight against the fascist practices carried out during the Second World War and against other forms of hatred and discrimination that exist today.
