Cuba's team of rhythmic gymnastics participates for the first time in the "AGF Trophy 2019" World Cup that takes place at this moment, in Baku, capital of the Republic of Azerbaijan.

In a meeting with the media of this Central European nation, Cuban team coach Nely Ochoa and the island's ambassador in Baku, Alfredo Nieves Portuondo, highlighted that Cuban representatives have prepared for the event and hope to acquire the necessary experience for future international competitions.
Ochoa stressed that the squad is commanded by the queen of rhythmic gymnastics of Cuba, Gretel Mendoza, who fights in the individual porphyria.
The trainer valued the high competitive level of the event and the rivalry among the athletes of the post-Soviet region.
For his part, Nieves Portuondo highlighted the youth of the island representation and the hospitality and conditions created by Azerbaijan to guarantee an excellent World Cup in this discipline.
The Rhythmic Gymnastics World Cup FIG "AGF Trophy" is held at the National Gymnastics Arena until April 28 and involves more than 200 gymnasts from 39 countries, where 25 teams will compete in group exercises and more than 70 athletes in individual programs .
