Cuba participates in meeting of the Saudi Minister of Hajj and Umrah with the Diplomatic Corps

Riyadh, March 3rd - The Chargé d' Affaires a.i. of the Embassy of Cuba, Vicente Ibrahin Abad, attended the second edition of the "Bridges Initiative", an event that was chaired by the Minister of Hajj and Umrah of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, H.E. Dr. Tawfiq Bin Fawzan Al-Rabiah, and was previously summoned by the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Belgium, H.E. Mr. Pascal Gregoire.

The diplomats attending this peculiar and significant event had the opportunity to receive the latest updates of the “Nusuk Hajj” digital platform for the year 2024, which aims to provide facilities to Muslims around the world, so that they can organize their pilgrimage to Mecca, the holiest city of Islam.

According to statistics revealed by the Saudi authorities, so far 25 Cuban citizens who practice Islam have been able to make the pilgrimage to Mecca.

This meeting ratified the will of the Saudi Ministry of Hajj and Umrah to strengthen communication and relations with the Diplomatic Corps accredited in Riyadh, in order to promote greater advice to the Muslim community located in each country.

The second edition of the “Bridges Initiative” is celebrated a few days before the sacred month of Ramadan, which is scheduled to begin on March 11th, 2024. (EmbaCuba Arabia Saudita)
