Cuba present at the exchange of the Protocol Directorate of the Province of Ontario with the accredited consular corps

At the headquarters of the Chamber of Commerce, a meeting was held between the Ontario Provincial Protocol Directorate and the accredited consular corps, which groups more than 100 representations.

During the event, presentations were made by the chiefs of protocol of the Canadian Foreign Ministry, the province and the city of Toronto, on the priorities, work systems and interrelation of each of these instances with the consular representations.

The event was resumed after the interruption since the beginning of the pandemic and provided a rich debate between the Canadian authorities and the heads of consular offices, to expand joint work and especially the support to consular management.

The Consul General of Cuba in Toronto, Jorge Yanier Castellanos Orta, took the opportunity to thank the Canadian authorities for the support provided to the management of the consulate in the province and joined the collective opinion on the need to preserve this important space for exchange.

In the second part of the event, the Cuban diplomat held meetings with the Chief of Protocol of Ontario, Kara Rawson, with Aretha Phillip, Chief of Protocol of the City of Toronto and members of their respective teams; as well as with their counterparts from Angola, China, South Africa and representatives of the Caribbean and Latin American consular corps.
