Within the framework of the Latin American Heritage Month in Canada, Columbus Day was celebrated on the Canadian Parliament Hill.
The event was attended by representatives of the diplomatic corps of Latin American countries accredited in the northern country.
The Cuban side was represented by members of the Embassy and friends of Cuba. The central words of the ceremony were given by the Minister of Heritage Pablo Rodriguez, who was accompanied by other senior politicians such as Ahmed Hussen, Minister of Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship, Soraya Martinez Ferrada and Julie Dzerowicz, Members of the Canadian Parliament and Senator Rosa Galvez.
The event provided an opportunity to exchange on the traditions and cultures of various Latin nations, as well as to reaffirm the importance of preserving our roots.
