Cuba present at the Latin American Film Festival "CineLit 2018"

Port of Spain, April 21st, 2018. With the participation of the Latin American, Caribbean and Spanish Embassies, accredited in Trinidad and Tobago, the Latin American Film Festival, known as "CineLit", was launched as part of the program of activities of the Literary Festival ¨Bocas Lit¨, which was hosted by the National Library (NALIS).

On this occasion, Cuba is represented by the biographical film "El Beny", dedicated to the famous and great Cuban musician Benny Moré, as well as the documentary "Guamá", where a particular Cuban experience in the protection and care of coastal mangroves in an eastern province of the country is shown.

The opening ceremony of the Film Festival, which will run until April 29, counted with a large presence of Trinbagonian audience, eager to learn about the culture and traditions of its Latin American neighbours through film. Representatives of NALIS, Bocas Lit and the Latin American embassies accredited in Port of Spain took the floor. All took advantage of their speeches to highlight the importance of enjoying audio-visual works and materials of our region, and with that to give continuity to a tradition that is beginning to consolidate as one of the most important elements of the annual cultural program in Trinidad and Tobago.

The participating embassies contributed to the inauguration program with a representation of the varied and exquisite Latin American and Caribbean cuisine, which was widely enjoyed and appreciated by the public.
