Cuba present at the Modern Languages Day of the University of the West Indies

Kingston, 11 April 2024. The Third Secretary of the Embassy of Cuba in Jamaica, Anabel Landrón Ochoa, participated in the activities organised by the University of the West Indies (UWI) as part of the Modern Languages and Literature Day, under the theme "Access to mobility: learning foreign languages in the 21st century".

In her remarks to those present, the Cuban diplomat shared experiences on the importance of knowing other languages for the exercise of her profession and highlighted the role of Cuban cooperants working in Jamaica in the teaching of the Spanish language, as well as the opportunities to pursue higher education in Cuba, through the Cuba-Jamaica Bilateral Scholarship Programme or on a self-financed basis.
