Vienna, August 26. Sport as a cultural, recreational and health space is one of the topics on which the work of the Cuban Embassy in Austria is focused, also concurrent for Slovenia and Croatia.
Award-winning sportsman Leonardo Pedroso Sotolongo, a Cuban citizen residing in Austria, has been defending the colors of our flag in local and international wrestling and judo competitions for years, in addition to promoting a campaign for non-violence working with young people who practice various sports disciplines.
This morning, Pedroso Sotolongo, together with Maximilian, Austrian boxing coach, visited our Consulate to inquire about the opportunities to establish cooperation in local development projects in the field of sports and other spheres, of which they were informed by the official in charge of Consular Affairs of the Embassy, Reinier Travieso Guerra.
The practice of combat sports and training on the basis of self-discipline, respect for others and healthy competitive spirit contributes to the awareness of the use of non-violence, contributing to the personal and spiritual improvement of the new generations and practitioners of these sports disciplines.
