Cuba ratifies its historic position with the Palestinian cause

Vienna, October 20 - Cuba expressed its unwavering solidarity with the Palestinian cause during a meeting convened today by the Permanent Mission of Palestine to the United Nations Office in Vienna to discuss the humanitarian situation in the Gaza Strip.

The Cuban Ambassador, Pablo Berti Oliva, strongly condemned the killings of civilians and innocent people in the face of the current escalation.

He reaffirmed the need for a comprehensive, just and lasting solution to the conflict, which requires the exercise of the inalienable right of the Palestinian people to self-determination and the construction of an independent and sovereign Palestinian State, within the pre-1967 borders.

Regarding the current situation, the Cuban diplomat reaffirmed that it is the result of years of illegal occupation and the violation of the inalienable rights of the Palestinian people in their own territory.

The Permanent Representative of Cuba reiterated the 7 points raised by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Cuba on the current situation, which were presented at the Press Conference of the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Cuba on October 19, 2023.

At the meeting convened by the Permanent Mission of Palestine, the reports of international organizations on the serious situation on the ground were presented. Representatives of twenty countries took the floor to reiterate their position in support of the just cause of the Palestinian people and to call for an immediate ceasefire, a halt to the killing of innocent civilians and the entry of humanitarian aid into the Gaza Strip.
