On behalf of Cuban Government and the Cuban people, President Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez expressed condolences to Vietnam after the human and material damages caused by recent floods in the northern part of the Indochinese country.
In a letter addressed to President Tran Dai Quang, and Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc, the Cuban head of State and Government extended his message to the family of the victims of the natural disaster.
23 dead, 10 missing and severe material damages are reported in mountainous provinces in the northern part of the country, such as Lai Chau, Ha Giang, Yen Bai, and Lao Cai.
According to data from the National Committee for the Prevention and Fight against Natural Disasters of Vietnam, dozens of homes were moved away, and hundreds of hectares of crops were affected by the floods.
