Comrade President

ICAP, Havana

Dear Comrade,

We are saddened by the news of heavy storm 'Tornado' in Havana on January 27 that struck several city municipalities affecting many people's life. The death of four people and 195 People injured caused by the extreme weather has added sorrow. We are experiencing more grief at the sudden disaster and heavy material loss. We would like to extend our strong feelings of solidarity with Cuban people and government at this time of difficulty. We pay our deep tribute to those who lost their life and express our heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family. We wish for the immediate recovery of the injured people.

We deeply believe that Cuban people and government will overcome the difficult situation soon as Cuba has rich experience of working in such grave conditions not only at home but even beyond the border. The prompt actions undertaken after the disaster to evacuate, to reduce the risk and reestablish the public service systems as ever, is really praiseworthy. No doubt, it will remain yet another exemplary humanitarian act in the Cuban history. We hope the people in affected areas will soon be able to resume normal days.

Lastly, we would like to express our strong belief that Cuban people, government and Cuban Communist Party would collect more strength through these hardships and challenges and combat till victory.  Once again, on behalf of Nepalese people and friends of Cuba in Nepal, we would like to extend our strong solidarity to Cuban people and Cuba at this difficult time suddenly created by the natural calamity.
