CUBA - ST. VINCENT AND THE GRENADINES, A FRIENDSHIP WITH PAST, PRESENT AND FUTURE

The Ambassador of Cuba in Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, Vilma Reyes Valdespino, received at her headquarters the Honorable Frederick Stephenson, Minister of National Mobilization, Social Development, Family, Gender Affairs, Persons with Disabilities and Youth; the Hon. Cecil Mckie, Minister of Tourism, Sports and Culture and the Hon. St. Claire Prince, Minister of Education, National Reconciliation and Ecclesiastical Affairs.

In the framework of a lively exchange, the parties referred to the secular friendship, fraternity and family ties between Cuba and Saint Vincent, which preceded and emotionally contributed to the subsequent formalization of bilateral relations.

The ministers expressed their satisfaction and gratitude for the presence of Cuban collaboration in different areas of the economic and social development of Saint Vincent and the Grenadines.

The parties noted the active participation of Saint Vincent and the Grenadines in the last three editions of FIHAV and in business and investment forums organized in Cuba, while referring to the 39th edition of FITCUBA and other prospective trade fair events.

The parties exchanged about new possibilities of cooperation and commercial exchange between the two Caribbean nations.

The Cuban Ambassador ratified her country's firm will to continue strengthening, broadening and deepening political, economic and cooperation ties, as well as the indestructible friendship between Cuba and Saint Vincent and the Grenadines.

The Vincentian ministers, for their part, expressed their rejection of the intensification of the blockade, imposed by the U.S. against Cuba, with special emphasis on its most recent manifestations, such as the reactivation of Title III of the Helms Burton Act and the sanctions against ships, transporting Venezuelan oil to the Greater of the Antilles.
