The director of International Relations of the Ministry of Agriculture Orlando Diaz today highlighted the links between the agricultural sector of Cuba and the United States, despite the blockade imposed by the northern nation to the island.
During the first day of the IV Cuba-U.S. Agricultural Business Conference, Diaz highlighted that several U.S. businessmen of the sector advocate the repeal of Washington's hostile policy and the establishment of normal relations in the commercial order between the two countries, especially in that area.
He explained that during the event, which is being held at the Grand Aston Hotel in the capital, there will be a series of conferences, visits to producers, as well as the presentation of the portfolio of opportunities for foreign investment at the sectorial level for the period 2022-2023.
He pointed out that the measures adopted by the State and Government management to boost foreign investment have been explained and technical tables will be held.
Regarding the fourth edition of the meeting, he said that it is expected to have a qualitatively superior leap in the sense of being able to materialize business projects and trade relations between the economic actors of the Cuban agri-food sector and U.S. entrepreneurs.
The meeting is an opportunity for U.S. producers and agricultural leaders to establish links with officials and specialists from the island.
At the opening of the meeting, the president of the U.S.-Cuba Agricultural Coalition, Paul Johnson, considered that closer ties between U.S. and Cuban citizens are the best hope for removing the political obstacles imposed by Washington.
