Cuba ratified today in Paris in the voice of its highest sports authority, Osvaldo Vento, the commitment to the promotion of sports as an instrument of inclusion and boost to sustainable development.
The president of the National Institute of Sports, Physical Education and Recreation (Inder) headed the island's delegation to the high-level forum “Changing the Game”, which was held on Wednesday at the headquarters of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (Unesco).
Vento told Prensa Latina that the healthy and inclusive practice of sports has been one of the principles defended by the Cuban Revolution since its beginnings, more than six decades ago.
In that sense, she stressed the participation of women and disabled people, in line with the right to physical education, sports and recreation enshrined in the Constitution.
