Cuban Ambassador to Canada meets with the MP and leader of the Bloc Québécois, Yves-François Blanchet.

Cuban Ambassador to Canada Héctor Igarza held an interesting and useful conversation with MP and leader of the Bloc Québécois, Yves-François Blanchet.

During the meeting, various issues of bilateral interest and the willingness to strengthen inter-parliamentary relations and the Quebec-Cuba relationship were discussed.

The Cuban Ambassador also provided an update on the economic and social situation of our country, which has suffered the impacts of the hostile policy of the US government, after the tightening of the blockade and the arbitrary inclusion of the island in the list of state sponsors of terrorism.

Likewise, the Cuban Ambassador thanked Canada for its historic support in the votes held every year at the United Nations General Assembly, where the vast majority of the international community calls for the end of the US blockade against Cuba.

Also present at the meeting were MP Gabriel Ste. Marie, co-chair of the Canada Cuba Parliamentary Friendship Group and Counselor Dany Tur de la Concepción, deputy head of the Cuban diplomatic mission.
