Kingston, Jamaica, April 15, 2022. On Friday morning, Ambassador Fermín Quiñones received executives from The PNP Patriots, an organization of young professionals affiliated with the National People's Party of Jamaica, at the diplomatic headquarters of Cuba in Jamaica.
At the meeting, the Ambassador updated his interlocutors on the situation in Cuba. He referred to the effects of the blockade imposed by the US government against the Cuban people for more than six decades, its extraterritorial application, and Jamaica's historic support for the international demand for its lifting. For their part, the young Jamaicans thanked the collaboration that Cuba has historically provided to their country in areas such as education and health.
Both parties agreed on the relevance of strengthening ties with Cuban youth organizations, and developing bilateral cooperation on issues such as technological innovation, food sovereignty and the environment.
