The Hague, August 14th. 2020. The Ambassador of Cuba in the Kingdom of the Netherlands H.E. Mrs. Soraya Alvarez Núñez received yesterday the Head of International Relations of the New Communist Party of the Netherlands (NCPN), Will van der Klift, a longtime friend of the Cuban Revolution who is also the Publisher of the newspaper The Manifest, the main press organ of this Party, who was accompanied by a representative of the Dutch Communist Youth Movement.
The participants exchanged on the global health emergency situation caused by the COVID-19 Pandemic, and on the respective national experiences. In the case of Cuba was also condemned the strengthening of the illegal US blockade against the island in the context of the confrontation with the Coronavirus.
The support provided by Cuban medical cooperation to numerous nations and territories during the pandemic was recognized; and also the campaign promoted by people of good will to be awarded the Nobel Peace Prize to the Cuban Henry Reeve Medical Brigades.
Other topics of the exchange included the new Social-economic Strategy adopted in Cuba; the unconventional forms of aggression against progressive forces, and the traditional solidarity and support provided to the Cuban Revolution and its people by both Dutch communist organizations.
Tribute was paid to the legacy of the historical leader of the Cuban Revolution Fidel Castro on his 94th birthday.
