The Ambassador of Cuba to the Republic of Cyprus, H.E. Mr. Angel Gustavo Suarez Cordero, held a meeting with the Commissioner of Citizens, Mr. Panayiotis Palates at the Commissioner's headquarters.
The Ambassador congratulated Mr. Palates on his appointment as Citizens' Commissioner and exchanged on the historical ties and solidarity between the two countries over the years.
For his part, the Cuban Ambassador gave an update on the work being done in Cuba to keep citizens active in political issues and the mechanisms for this, a clear example of which was the approval of the Family Code. In addition, the Cuban diplomat informed about the effects of the measures imposed by the unjust, inhuman and criminal blockade imposed by the US government on Cuba for more than 60 years.
The Commissioner informed the Ambassador about the action plan of his institution and future projects.
Mrs. Eleonora Papademetriou, Head of the Office (EmbaCuba Cyprus) was present at the meeting.
