The Cuban Ambassador to Iran says goodbye

The Cuban Embassy in Tehran offered a cocktail on the occasion of the farewell of its Ambassador, Vladimir González Quesada, who returns to Cuba after four years of work in the Persian nation.

The event was attended by executives and officials of the Iranian Foreign Ministry, led by the Deputy Director General for the Americas, Hojatollah Soltaní, as well as members of the Diplomatic Corps accredited to the country and some Iranian friends.

In his brief farewell remarks, the Head of Mission thanked the presence of officials of the Iranian Foreign Ministry and reiterated them the appreciation for their support and cooperation during the last four years to promote bilateral relations between Cuba and Iran in different fields. He noted that the results achieved in this period were evidence of such cooperation.

The Ambassador also thanked the attendance at the cocktail of colleagues from the Diplomatic Corps and close Iranian friends, with whose company -he said- his stay in Iran was more useful and pleasant.

Vladimir González served as Ambassador to the Islamic Republic of Iran from September 2013 to the present, and for much of that time also served as non-resident Ambassador to the Republic of Iraq.
