The Cuban ambassador in Ireland held a fraternal meeting with Mary Lou McDonald, president of Sinn Féin Party.

Dublin, April 29, 2021. The Cuban ambassador to Ireland Hugo R. Ramos Milanés held a fraternal meeting with Mary Lou McDonald, president of the Sinn Féin party and deputy to the national parliament.

During the fraternal meeting, the Cuban diplomat reported on the results of the recently held 8th Congress of the Communist Party of Cuba, as well as the country's efforts to face the Covid-19 pandemic in the harsh conditions of the tightening of the blockade and the advancement of the immunization program of the population with Cuban-made vaccines.

The President of Sinn Féin conveyed her congratulations on his successes in the performance of his duties to comrade Miguel Díaz-Canel, First Secretary, and to the newly elected Central Committee. She also ratified the traditional solidarity of her party towards the Cuban people in the international campaign to end the economic blockade it has suffered for more than 60 years.
