Cuban Ambassador meets with the Leader of the Opposition in Saint Kitts and Nevis.

Basseterre, February 9, 2022- This morning, Cuban Ambassador David Rivero Pérez received the leader of the opposition, member of Parliament and former leader of the Saint Kitts and Nevis Labour Party, Honourable Dr Denzil Douglas, at the headquarters of the Diplomatic Mission.

The fraternal meeting was conducive to highlighting the historic friendly relations between the two countries, as well as between the Labour Party of St Kitts and Nevis and the Communist Party of Cuba.

In addition, they discussed issues of common interest, fundamentally pertaining to the current Cuban reality, emphasizing the fight against Covid-19, and the Cuban contributions to the rest of the world. The visitor showed special interest in the development of Cuban vaccines and the process of immunization of its population.

Denzil Douglas became the leader of the Saint Kitts and Nevis Labour Party in 1989, until 2021 when Dr Terrence Drew was elected. In 1995 he was proclaimed Prime Minister, a position he held until 2015.
