Cuban Ambassador meets Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Trade and Immigration.

H.E. Lissette Pérez, Ambassador of Cuba to Belize,  paid a courtesy call to the Hon. Eamon Courtenay, Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Trade and Immigration of Belize. He was accompanied by Ambassador Amalia Mai, CEO of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Furthermore, in a cordial and friendly atmosphere, the Cuban representative exchanged thoughts with the Minister about the VII Cuba-CARICOM Summit that is to take place Tuesday, December 8, 2020. They talked about this year, due to the conditions imposed by the scourge of the coronavirus pandemic, that it will be held virtually. Both officials expressed their satisfaction of participating in the great event, as well as the opportunity that the delegation will have, which will be headed by Prime Minister John Briceño. Mr. Briceño hopes to greet and exchange with the Cuban and Caribbean authorities in a complex regional and international context.
During the meeting, Minister Courtenay thanked uson behalf of the Belizean government the solidarity Cuba has historically shown with Belize. Therefor, mentioning the presence and support of the Cuban Medical Brigade, which in 2020 celebrates thirty years of permanent presence in this sister nation. A remarkable feet amalgamated by Contingent " Henry Reeve, "who traveled in March to support Belizean efforts as part of the national response program to the scourge of Covid-19. Similarly, the Belizean Foreign Minister ratified his country's rejection of the blockade imposed by the US on our country for more than 60 years and confirmed that his country will continue to be guided by the principles of respect, non-intervention and non-interference in the sovereignty of states.#CubaCaricom #CaribeUnido #Cuba #Belize
