Nigeria, July 21st, 2023.- On the morning of this Friday, Mrs. Miriam Morales Palmero, presented her Style Copies of the Credentials that accredit her as Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the Republic of Cuba to the Federal Republic of Nigeria to the H. E. Mr. Ibrahim Zanna, Chief of Protocol of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of this Sub-Saharan African country.
During the ceremony, held at the Nigerian Foreign Ministry, both diplomats agreed on the importance of continuing to strengthen relations between Cuba and Nigeria, which date back more than 49 years, while highlighting the historical and cultural ties that unite both peoples.
Cuba and Nigeria established diplomatic relations on July 1st, 1974. In October of the same year, the Cuban Embassy was opened in the state of Lagos, then the capital of the country. In 1975, Nigeria made the opening of its Embassy in Havana. Currently, the relations between the largest of the Antilles and the African country basically cover health, culture and sports.
