Nepal, November 10, 2016. The Cuban ambassador to India, concurrent in Bangladesh, Bhutan and Nepal, Oscar Martínez Cordoves, was received today in a solemn hearing by the President of Nepal, His Excellency Ms. Bidya Devi Bhandari, to whom he presented the Credentials Letters accrediting him as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Cuba in that country.
During the cordial meeting, the Nepalese mandatary sent greetings to the Cuban President Raul Castro Ruz and Fidel. She also emphasized the historical relations between the two countries; underlining the collaboration between Cuba and Nepal in the Non-Aligned Movement, and expressed their willingness to develop bilateral ties and the interest of strengthening cooperation in health, sports and biotechnology.
In this context, the President acknowledged the work of the Cuban Medical Brigade in Nepal, which left an indelible mark, and reiterated the support of her country in the struggle of the Cuban people for lifting the blockade.
Also participating in the ceremony were the ministers of Foreign Affairs, Defense, 9 Secretaries of State and other leaders and officials of the Foreign Ministry. (Cubaminrex-Embacuba India).
