Cuban ambassador participates in the unveiling of statue to the father of Belize's independence.

Belize City, September 18, 2024.- In the Battlefield Park of this city, a statue was unveiled in tribute to the father of the Belizean nation, the Honorable George Cadle Price.

This important event is part of the national activities for the 43rd anniversary of the independence of this sister Caribbean nation from British colonialism, which took place on September 21, 1981.

This impressive life-size bronze statue was a long-awaited dream of its people and will pay permanent tribute to this distinguished patriot of national history, who with high patriotism, effort, tenacity and dedication led the process that brought Belize its independence as a nation.

Present at the ceremony were Governor General Dame, Froyla Tzalam, the Honourable Henry Usher and Anthony Mahler, members of the Cabinet, the diplomatic and consular corps, students, George Price's relatives and people in general. (EmbacubaBelize)
