Cuban Ambassador presents Letters of Credence to the Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA)

Vienna, April 12, 2023 - Cuban Ambassador Pablo Berti Oliva presented to His Excellency Mr. Rafael Mariano Grossi, Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency, the Letters of Credence accrediting him as Permanent Representative of the Republic of Cuba to the IAEA.

During the brief meeting held as part of the credentials presentation ceremony, the good state of cooperation between Cuba and the IAEA was highlighted, as well as the high level of Cuban professionals in nuclear matters.

The Cuban Permanent Representative thanked Mr. Grossi for the IAEA's support to the Island in difficult times for the country and for the agency's position in relation to the consequences of the economic, commercial and financial blockade imposed against Cuba.

The IAEA is the international center for cooperation in the nuclear field within the United Nations. Founded in 1957, the Agency works with its Member States and multiple partners around the world to promote the use of nuclear technologies for peaceful purposes and under safe and secure conditions.
