Cuban Ambassador presents Letters of Credence to the Director General of the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO)

Vienna, May 12, 2023 - Cuban Ambassador Pablo Berti Oliva presented to His Excellency Mr. Gerd Müller, Director-General of the United Nations Industrial Development Organization, the Letters of Credence accrediting him as Permanent Representative of the Republic of Cuba to the United Nations Industrial Development Organization.

As part of the credential’s presentation ceremony, the Cuban Ambassador spoke with Mr. Müller about the cooperation between Cuba and UNIDO, as well as the possibilities of expanding it through new projects.

The Cuban Permanent Representative explained to the Director General of UNIDO the impact on the country's development caused by the economic, commercial and financial blockade imposed against Cuba and expressed his gratitude for the Organization's position in this regard.

UNIDO is a specialized agency of the United Nations with the unique mandate of promoting, dynamizing and accelerating industrial development. It was founded on 17 November 1966 and has 171 Member States.
