Scarborough, November 7, 2024. From November 7 to 8, the Cuban Ambassador, Gustavo Véliz Olivares, visited Tobago. As part of his program on the neighboring island, he held meetings with directors of the Scarborough General Hospital, the Hemodialysis Service at the Health Center in the island's capital, and the hospital in the Roxborough region—all facilities where Cuban collaborators provide services.
The directors of the facilities expressed highly favorable opinions regarding the professionalism, dedication, commitment, and service of the Cuban collaborators.
The Ambassador also participated in the work meeting of the Cuban Medical Brigade and attended the Scientific Conference organized by the Brigade. He was accompanied by Dr. Orlando Díaz Gómez, Head of the BMC, and Anand Munnesar, International Cooperation Officer from the Ministry of Health of Trinidad and Tobago.
