Cuban Ars Longa Was Applauded in Vienna

Ars Longa, the Cuba´s Musical Group, was welcomed in Austria during their performance at Konzerthaus Theater.

During its participation in the Resonanze Festival of Ancient Music, the Cuban group captured the hearts of the audience that openly showed their enthusiasm for the colorful and harmonious presentation, stated by an statement from the Cuban Embassy to Austria .

The 'Carnival' show 'recreates the most-indigenous spirit of the celebrations and refers to festive, dance and musical expressions, well-rooted in the indigenous, African and European cultures', the director of Ars Longa, Teresa Paz explained.

The Cuban Musical Group presented, for an hour and a half, Christmas carols, Latin American colonial dances, Afro-Cuban songs and so forth, works composed between the XVI and XVIII centuries.

At the end of the show, Ars Longa danced all down the corridors of the theater by playing a rhythm of a traditional Santiago de Cuba´s Carnaval Conga, the diplomatic report stated.
